比較級の慣用表現

know better than to do　～しないくらいの分別を持つ
You should know better than to say such a thing to her.
そんなん彼女に言わんでいいやん。
I know better than tell him the truth.
ほんまのことをあいつに言うほどアホちゃう。

no longer　もはや～ではない
I no longer work for the company.

much less/let alone　まして～ではない
I can't speak English well, much less Spanish.
英語も話せないのにましてやフランス語なんて。

I don't have enough money to buy a car, let alone a house.
車も買うお金ないのに、家なんて。

比較級・最上級の強調

She can speak English far/much/a lot more better than me.
Her English is by far the best in my class.
